As We Feast, So Do the Pests
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, they are all great holidays. More importantly, however, they are an excuse to pig out. Whether you are double fisting turkey legs or eating two boxes of potatoes in latke form, the holidays are all about the food.
But while the merriment goes on in our homes, something far more nefarious brews in our basements and in our walls. I am talking about the looming specter of pestilence. With all that food in our homes, and the streets cold and covered in snow the mice are waiting for our celebration to end and theirs to begin. When you go to bed they will invade your kitchen. Mice will be standing on the edge of your wine glass and leaning in for a long drink of lambrusco. Rats will be dancing on your table as they greedily fill their mouths with morsels of macaroni.
