Mice Rampage Through Melbourne, Australia
This past week, the Australian city of Melbourne experienced a rare case of a mice plague as thousands of rodents are running through roofs and inside buildings around the city. In an interview for a local newspaper, one official said that the city is, “Getting five new calls a day from the public. There are a lot more this year than in previous years. Locals who went to buy mice traps can’t, because Bunnings has run out. Customers said they have caught up to 12 mice in one afternoon, cats and dogs are now picking them up too. We are trying to get on top of it.”
Stores are running out of mouse glue traps as citizens try to catch the rodents and get back control of their town. This infestation is actually not as rare as many might think. It has happened and can happen anywhere in the US too. As the weather becomes nicer, mice become more active and if not controlled by the best mouse traps, can take over an entire area in a few days. All home owners (and apartment renters too) should keep a close eye in the next few weeks as the weather clears up and make sure that mice are not settling in the walls or around houses.
