Catchmaster traps, Disposable Fly Trap, Humane Mouse Trap, Mouse Glue Trap, Sticky Mouse Trap and more…
We have had a rodent problem for a few weeks. Wake up in the morning, turn on the lights, and watch the tail end of our pet mouse scurry from the counter top into the range top, and away. We found droppings, bags chewed, and decided that this could not go on. We decided to invest in some humane mouse traps.
We placed the sticky mouse traps on the counter with a dollop of peanut butter and waited. This morning, my roommate texted me, since she leaves so early, that she had heard the squeaking of a mouse and had taken the issue to the garbage can, and put it outside. When I woke up and checked the can outside, it was empty and the mouse was gone.
The sticky mouse traps are easy. They catch the mouse and he can’t go anywhere. So you throw him away. Done and done. But are they the most humane mouse traps? I don’t know how the mouse meets his end. It’s no longer my problem when it’s out of view. But I can’t help feeling that the most humane mouse traps are not mouse glue traps. Of course, I have the stomach to see a squashed mouse. What do you think?
